Dear Stephen, we all so enjoyed our class with you on Saturday. It was great fun and super to learn some new postures and your stomach exercises too! All of us are raving about your teaching skills which are just fantastic. We were blown away by your flexibility too! Vivien Tallis-Evans, our teacher, was so complimentary too saying how well you managed our individual abilities and needs. I hope you don't mind that we didn't tell you she was our teacher - she felt happier doing the class without you knowing. We practice with Vivien weekly, so look us up when you are in Bristol. Our weekend was a great success, so I am sure we will meet again when we are down next year. Many thanks and I hope your party was fun.

Steve has formed a wonderful relationship with the children at pre-school during our fortnightly yoga sessions. The children often tell Steve their news when we all sit down on the mats. He is calm and reassuring, supporting confidence and self esteem and is flexible to work with each child's personality valuing their thoughts by sharing them with the group.
>In a fun way the children learn to co ordinate and balance movements and postures adapting them in imaginative ways such as pretending to be frogs, dinosaurs, or a Jack-in- box. Their interest is sustained through listening to the children's own ideas and developing concepts further. He encourages participation and celebrates small achievements so that every child is involved. The sessions also help to develop listening and following instructions as well as self awareness.

Last year I injured my knee (not in yoga!) and Stephen's class was a great way to speed up my recovery. Every week I could bend my knee a little further, and the stretching and balance exercises helped repair the muscles and ligaments that had tightened after the injury. My knee is completely recovered now but I will continue the classes, I enjoy seeing how much I can improve.

I have enjoyed yoga with Stephen for 5 years. His classes are friendly and relaxed but always challenging. They help keep me fit and active.

I have been doing yoga for over 10 years and now at 63 have never felt better. After two slipped discs in the past, my back now feels flexible. After my Monday yoga class I feel like running! In my opinion all attributable to yoga.

The thing I keep saying to my friends who ask me about Ashtanga Yoga is - it's improved every aspect of my life! But perhaps that's a bit cheesy?

I have been going to Stephen's class at the Harbour House for the last two years. I was complete beginner but Stephen was able to bring me up to speed with the rest of the class quite quickly. Stephen is patient and passionate in his approach, I would recommend his class to anyone thinking of joining whatever level you are at. Ashtanga yoga is a great work out and the Tuesday class really sets up me up for the week!

Happy to give a testimonial. I have been a regular at Stephen's Ashtanga class for last 4 years. I find his 2 hour sessions both physically challenging and relaxing at the same time. I find the classes an excellent antidote to my hectic lifestyle, as well as being great for general fitness, strength and posture. Stephen has a gentle & encouraging manner which makes the classes very enjoyable and helps people to progress at their own pace. .....its great. Give it a go.

I have attended Stephens classes for approximately 6 years . I find Ashtanga Yoga has all the things I need . It gives me great strength and tone , energy and clears my head . Also the spiritual element is there but it is your choice how far you want to go with that . Stephen teaches with great enthusiasm , knowledge and fun! He always tries to bring new ideas in too . I highly recommend you give it a try.

As a "40 something female" the Ashtanga Yoga classes have been brilliant for me as they have been more challenging than the more gentler form of yoga I was used to. I've now built up my flexibility which has enabled me to get into positions I wasn't able to before and leave the class with a total sense of wellbeing and deep relaxation. Stephen has a great knack for making new comers feel welcome and comfortable so I would highly recommend if you've never tried Ashtanga Yoga.

I have found the Ashtanga Yoga classes to be really good supplement to my main sporting activity - cycling - which is notorious for doing very little to maintain core strength and general flexibility. My back now performs much better on long all-day rides, and my breathing feels more controlled. I am also a coeliac (gluten allergy) and I suffer from some gastro-intestinal problems from time to time, but I believe that the abdominal exercises and stretching have improved my condition.
I still find some of the positions very hard, limited mostly by my lack of flexibility around the hips, but even that is improving. At first I found the 2 hour sessions to be very long but now feel more comfortable. I find the atmosphere in the class to be very calm but friendly.

I enjoy your class primarily because of your your skill as a teacher, but also because of your enthusiasm, never ending patience and encouragement.

Stephen is my fourth yoga teacher. I have attended his class in Ivybridge since moving to the area last September. There is a really nice, relaxed atmosphere in the class but he provides a thorough work out, challenging everybody to push themselves.
